The One-Minute Setup Wizard, Walked Through

Anti-spam plugins have a reputation for configuration marathons. Spamify’s answer is a guided first-run wizard that gets you protected in about a minute — with sensible defaults you can refine later. Here’s the tour.

Step 1 — Pick the forms to protect

The wizard detects which form plugins you have and lets you switch protection on for each. Out of the box it covers WordPress core forms plus popular plugins like Contact Form 7, WPForms, Jetpack Forms, and Elementor Forms. Enable the ones you actually use.

Step 2 — Choose your protection level

Rather than making you set every threshold by hand, the wizard offers a protection posture and translates it into starting values for your flag and block thresholds. You can fine-tune later — the point is to start protected, not perfect.

Step 3 — Decide on SMTP verification

The wizard asks whether to enable SMTP mailbox verification. Leave it off if you’re unsure — syntax validation, honeypot, timing, and rate limiting all work without it. If you turn it on, the wizard shows the port-25 connectivity result so you know whether your host supports it.

Step 4 — Privacy and logging

Finally, you set your log retention window and IP anonymisation. These are your GDPR-facing choices, and the defaults are already privacy-leaning.

That’s it — your forms are protected. From here the workflow is simple: let it run for a week, then open the dashboard and adjust thresholds based on what you actually see. The wizard gets you to a safe baseline; the dashboard gets you to a tuned one.
